I found this 2005 Volvo V50 T5 on facelibre commercespot. It’s got 178k miles and seller is asking $5k. It’s up in Shoreline WA, a bit north of Seattle
The thing that’s making my car search difficult is that I’m trying to avoid a real leather interior, which it seems is mostly what Volvo uses. However, when I inquired generally about what the upholstery is, the seller responded that it’s “Volvo sport leatherette.” Is this really a thing? I haven’t been able to find any hard info one way or the other on this. The options package specs I’ve been able to find just say “leather,” which could go either way. Does anyone know for sure? Perhaps someone with some inside info?

The cloth seats in this generation V50 are a combination of cloth centers and leatherette bolsters which is probably what they’re talking about.

I can at least provide some help for previous gen V70s! I’ve got two of these booklets with all options for American V70s, here are all of the relavent pages.
Looks like there were a lot of configurations available without leather, but even more with leather.

So what's the reason you don't like real leather? The time consuming maintenance? Or the easy cracking if it wasn't maintained?

Ethical reasons.

Got some shots of the interior. I think they match that description but I’m not 100%. Does this look like what you were talking about?

Just from looking at what’s available used, it seems like a vanishingly small number were actually sold in the US without leather. Seems like more Europeans had the cloth interior, but even then most you see are leather.

Oh, definitely. They’re out there but few and far between. I’m normally a cloth guy, but being a ble to shift around eaiser on the V70s leather seat has been nice.
Would probably have better luck going back to 240s
